- Sept 28th, 2017, UNEP COP 1 Geneva speech of Dr. Mahmood A.Khwaja: Addressing the first UNEP conference of the Parties (COP 1), Dr. Mahmood A.Khwaja, past President, ISDE and senior adviser, Chemicals and Sustainable Industrial development, emphasized expedited support to developing countries, through capacity building, technical assistance & technology transfer, for sound chemicals (including mercury) management/safe guarding public health, in Geneva. September 28, 2017. Over 1500 delegates from 152 countries (including 2 Presidents and several Minister/Vice Ministers of Environment) participated in COP 1.
- Sept 23th, 2017, General Assembly: Before the First Conference of the Parties to the Minamata Convention ISDE's General Assembly tool place on September 29th, 2017 in Geneva, Switzerland.
- August 16th, 2017, Mercury: The Minamata Convention enters into force on the 16 August 2017. The First Conference of the Parties will take place from 24 to 29 September 2017 in Geneva, Switzerland.
